Year 11
Birkdale High School boys were awarded excellent exam results in 2020. Despite the cancellation of the exams, and the grades being achieved in unusual circumstances, we were expecting an improvement in our results for our 2020 cohort and we were delighted that they received the grades we firmly believe they deserved.
There were some outstanding individual achievements, including Sam Lee who was awarded a grade 9 in all subjects, and the following boys who achieved 8 or more grades at 7 or above: Fraser Andrew, Charlie Blott, Kian Champion, Fraser Cooke, Sven Grutters, Dylan Haver, Tate Johnstone, Kacper Kasicki, Eliot King, Jason Lewis, Henry Maw, Mackenzie Morgan, Nathaniel Pye, Chris Rolfe, Tom Selby, Jamie Shaw, Jack Swain, Oscar Thompson, and Tommy Witterick.
“Although exams were cancelled this year, it is fantastic to see that so many of our boys have received grades that they can justifiably be very proud of and which genuinely reflect the hard work that they had put into their GCSEs up to the 20th March and beyond. With or without a final exam, these grades are a testament to the strength of character, determination and resilience our boys have shown over the last 5 years. We are all incredibly proud of what the boys have achieved and wish them all the best for the future.”

Year 10
A group of 64 Year 10 students were awarded a GCSE in Statistics, with some outstanding results. 3 boys, Ed Bellerby, Jakub Gluszko and Anthony Waite achieved grade 9 and a further 8 boys, Jasper Berry, James Davies, Harry Day, James Hawksworth, George Nicholas, Jake Rimmer, David Tear and Daniel Watt achieved grade 8. This is a pleasing set of results, particularly as the boys prepare for these exams during their normal maths lessons.
